Four nabbed for
armed robbery @KNUST
Four guys
have been arraigned before KMA circuit for alleged armed robbery on students of
KNUST.
Kofi
Frimpong Acquah 23, Kwabena Boateng 22, phone dealer, Richard Effah Kweku 20, a
drivers mate and Mohamed Kyeremanteng 24, unemployed were nabbed in a robbery
expedition at Shalom Hostel near KNUST.
Police Inspector
H. Acheampong told the court that on the 18 of August 2016 around 3:00am, the accused
persons Kwadwo Berimah and Richard Effah Kweku forcefully entered a room in
Shalom Hostel with knives and a pistol to rob the students of their valuables
which include, itel tablet valued at GH 300.00, Hawaii Ascend mobile phone
valued at GH 150.00, a Samsung Galaxy JS valued at GH 250 and a Techno P5
mobile phone valued at GH 300.00.
The alleged robbers went to the next room and at a gun point
robbed the occupants of Samsung Galaxy Note valued Gh 400, Toshiba laptop
valued at GH http://stephenpointblank.blogspot.com1,500 and a Microsoft 435 phone valued GH 300.00 cedis. Richard
Effah Kweku, who was with a gun, assaulted a female student who denied him sex.
The alleged robbers in the same night went to a Homestel and
robbed students of HP laptop valid GH 1600 cedis, iphone valued GH 400 cedis
and a Samsung Galaxy valued GH 600 cedis.
The students raised alarm which waked the nigh security of a
hostel nearby, who perused the alleged armed robbers and caught Kofi Frimpong
Acquah, who in an attempt to escape inflicted knives wound in the palm of the
security person but was overpowered.
Prosecution indicates that upon arrest, Kofi Frimpong
admitted the offence and led the police to the arrest of Kwabena Boateng and Richard
Effah Kweku both admitted committing the offense and mentioned Mohammed Kyeremanteng
has the one who provided them with the pistol.
Prosecution reveals that the pistol which was used for the
operation was a Toy Revolver pistol.
