SHAMA DCE URGED YOUTHS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ENABLE YOUTH PROGRAM

Mr Joseph Amoah, DCE for Shama District is urging youths with in the district to take advantage of Akufo _Addo led government initiative  "Empowering Novel Agribusiness Led Employment for Youth ( ENABLE Youth) which currently being rolled out nationwide. Speaking  at the 8th ordinary meeting of the 3rd Assembly, Mr Joseph Amoah intimated that, already land as beeen secured at Beposo Nkran for the  start of the ENABLE Youth program in the district and urged the youths in the district to apply for the program. Mr Amoah further urged youths to shoe keen interest and actively participate in the various government socio - economic initiatives to create employment. The Western Regional Minister, Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah on Tuesday,16th of July 2019, paid a working visit to towns and villages in the Shama District  to explain current government programs to the Chiefs and people that are geared towards the accelerated development of the area. The tour was also meant to identify problems confronting the people and initiate strategies for solving them. This is the first familiarisation tour the Regional Minister has embarked upon, since he was appointed by President Akufo-Addo and last two months and subsequently approved by Parliament to steer the affairs of the Region. Wassa Akropong: Woman 27 years, peppered in the genitalia for shop lifting.

A  27 year old Janet Oteng, has been lynched  by some irate youths of Wassa Akropong of the Amenfi East District for stealing a blue jeans  trouser and pairs of G- String panties from a boutique. Janet Oteng was cought sneaking out of the shop with the panties in her under wear and the jeans trousers in a polythene bag. An eyewitness to the theft triggered an alert when she was pursued to explain how she got the said items from the shop.  She was however unable to provide proof of purchase, a situation which caused some neighbors and the shop operators to strip her cloths off and insert hot pepper, ginger and other hot local spices into her vagina and other parts of the her body. Jane as she’s affectionately called, “claimed to be a hair dresser in Kumasi and she travels to Wassa Akropong on market days to trade”, an eyewitness said. The police later intervened and the suspect was arrested. Investigations are currently underway.

Kwesimintsim: 20 year old Mubarik lynched for “hoarding” stolen items, family demand justice

Family members of a twenty year old gentleman who got lynched last Sunday in Kwesimintsim are demanding justice for the loss of their innocent relative.  The gentleman, whose name has been given as Mubarik, was brutalized by some residents in the neighborhood, over suspicion of hoarding stolen electrical appliances in his room. The mob who accused Mubarik for the crime of aiding and abetting thievery, justified their action that “the Municipal Police Commander has sanctioned the fight against thievery in their community”, an eyewitness told Skyy News. It is reported that Murbarik passed away some minutes on route to Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital after being reffered by the Kwesimintsim District Hospital that Sunday. Takoradi: Two (2) hardcore armed robbers sentenced to 140 years in jail with hard labour.

A Takoradi Circuit Court presided over by Her Honor Abigail Animah Asare has convicted two persons to 140 years jail sentence for robbery. The learned  Judge converted  Nicholas Nana Takyi and Charles Kwame Ampong,  after she found them guilty on the   charged  of stealing, conspiracy to steal, possession of arms, robbery and causing harm. Police prosecutor, Cop. Francis Osei Bonsu told the court that the complainant, Yakubu, is unemployed and a resident of Takoradi, whilst the accused persons are also unemployed and residents at Apowa. He said there has been series of reports on attacks and theft of belongings of residents of Takoradi and surrounding areas, as well as passengers at the Takoradi – Accra Station at Top Ten, a suburb of Takoradi. LIKE SERIOUSLY??: Chinese Boss asks Ghanaian workers to apologize to his dogs

Local workers of the Ghana Household Utilities Manufacturing Company Limited (GHUMCO), in Takoradi, are being forced to apologize to wild dogs belonging to their Chinese Factory Manager whose name was only given as Mr Zhu. The workers recounted how most of them have suffered dog bites at the premises of the company, yet were compelled to write apology letters to the Factory Manager, irrespective.  According to Kofi Ntow (not real name), after a severe dog bite, a worker is forced to write an apology letter to the dog instead, failure of which will lead to one’s dismissal. The workers further lament over zero payment of allowances and compensations to injured workers, poor safety measures at the factory, and poor salaries coupled with long working hours of working without benefits, among others. “I was recovering from an illness, and had gone to buy food amidst difficulty. Just after finding a seat at our salon to sit, I heard a bang on our door. Just at the spare of the moment, someone held my heard and hit it against a wall. In the struggle, my lip went into her mouth, and she bit it.” Beatrice Erica Agyapong, a twenty-three year old hairdresser apprentice at  Pricsy’s Parlour  located at Bankyease, narrating her story to me, at her bedside in the Kwesimintsim Hospital, Takoradi. Beatrice has had her lower lip bitten off by an incensed lover of a boy who gave her a ‘lift’, Friday morning. According to her, she had only requested for a ‘lift’ from a man, whose name she gave as AB, to go and buy food, since she had still not recovered from her illness, and it was therefore struggling to walk properly. The District Chief Executive of Shama Hon. Joseph Amoah issued a stern warning to clay mining companies operating in the district illegally. He insists operating in the district without the requisite documents violates the Assembly’s bye laws therefore any culprit will be made to face the full rigors of the law. There are ten companies mining clay in the Shama District. The mined clay is supplied to the ceramic companies in and out of the district including TWYFORD and WANG KANG. However all the ten companies are operating without necessary documents and also not paying any conveyance fees to the Assembly. This is despite the wanton destruction of their activities to the environment. But at District Commitee against Illegal Mining meeting with the clay companies, District Chief Executive, Joseph Amoah expressed displeasure with the companies insisting they are duping the country by operating illegally.
