COURT REMAND NOTORIOUS ASH-TOWN ARMED ROBBER
A Kumasi circuit court
has ordered Richard Owusu alias Thousand into prison custody for robbery at a
knife point at Ash-Town a suburb of Kumasi.
Richard Owusu, who is
only 22 and noted for many nefarious robbery activities within the vicinity of
Ash-Town. This caused the wrath of the trail judge Mary M.E Nsenkyiire has this
is not the first time the accused person has been arraigned before her, she
stated.
The trail judge remanded
Richard Owusu after he pleaded not guilty to his charge of conspiracy, robbery
and causing harm.
The fact of the case as
indicated by Chief Inspector Felix Akowuah is that, on 4th December
2016, accused person with four other persons who are now at large met and
agreed on embarking on robbery expedition. Richard Owusu with his gang armed
with cutlasses and knives proceeded to a drinking spot at Ash-Town owed by one
Patrick Kwabena Kyere and robbed him of his Nokia tablet phone valued GH 350.00
and cash sum of 2000 dollars.
One Prosper Zabre, who
was also at the drinking spot was attacked and robbed of his Techno phone
valued GH 500.00 and a cash sum of GH 175.00. They proceeded to subject a
certain Tweneboah Koduah, a private security officer, who had no property on
him to severe beating and he sustained multiple cuts on his body.
However, upon a tip off
police preceded to the robbery scene and got Richard Owusu arrested together
with a sharp knife whilst the other escaped. Richard Owusu upon his arrest could
not lead the police to the hideout of his accomplices.
