Two jailed 14years for stealing in kumasi
Two men who conspired with a pistol to steal a lady who was asleep in her room of a her sumsong mobile phone have been sentence to total 14 years imprisonment.
This was after the court presided over by Her Honor Mary M.E Nsenkyire found Emmanuel Akalu,20, mechanic and Precious Kuufar, 22, who is unemployed guilty on four count of conspiracy, unlawful entry,stealing and unlawful possesion of fire arm.
Before convicting the accused, the accused went on their kneels in the dock asking her to temper justice with mercy.The learnard trail judge factored in their plea for mitigation and the fact that they are first offenders and they are young.
Prosecution's case was that on 5/11/16, Emmanuel Akalu spied and unlawfully entered the room of one Rabiatu Halidu, who was asleep at that time and stole her sumsong phone. The complaints of the case upon seeing Emmanuel Akalu raised alarm and had him arrested, a search conducted him led to the retrieval of a sumsong phone and a locally manufactured gun.
The complainant handed Emmanuel Akalu to the police, in investigation he mentioned Precious Kuufar has the one who provided him with the locally manufactured gun. Precious Kuufar was later arrested from his hide out at Buokrom.
At the police station both admitted the offences and where charged with the offences
