MAN IN POLICE GRIPS FOR BITING OFF A MAN'S EAR

A 25 year old man has been apprehended for biting off the right ear of a security personnel at Kojokrom in the Western region.

The suspect whose name is given as Ebenezer Appiah is said to have engaged in a scuffle with a security personnel of the Ghana Railways Company Limited, Abu Bashiru, 37, after he was arrested for stealing a metal scrap which is being used to support construction works on the Kojokrom bridge.

Skyy News checks at the Kojokrom Police Station revealed the suspect Ebenezer Appiah is currently behind bars and assisting police investigations.

Assembly member for Kojokrom Electoral Area Mike Arthur narrating events leading to the arrest of the suspect told Skyy News the suspect with his gang have been in the business of stealing metal scraps and open defecation at the area.

“On Sunday morning, the suspect [Ebenezer Appiah] and is gang embarked on their nefarious activity at the site unfortunately luck eluded him. Ebenezer was initially arrested by the security personal on duty but upon incessant pleading he was set free”, Mr Arthur explained.

“At down today, the culprit mobilized his gang to attack the security post and in the process, biting off the right ear of the security officer at post”, he continued.
The suspect in an interview with Skyy News’ Steven Cudjoe described allegations leveled against him as frivolous.

According to him he has not been part of any gang involved in stealing of metal scraps from the site and that it is only this morning that he was passing by the site with his wife and the security man called him accusing him of being part of the said gang.

He adds “in the midst of a verbal argument with the security man, Abu Bashiru hit him with a log and had a fight with him”.

An angered Ebenezer in an attempt to overpower the security officer mistakenly bite off the right ear, he defended.
Currently a police medical form has been issued to the said security man to receive treatment before his statement will be taken.

Commuters shun Sekondi-Takoradi train shuttle

  A year after the inauguration of the train shuttle service between Sekondi and Takoradi, the Ghana Railway Company (GRC) is yet to break even due to low patronage of the service by commuters.  The GRC is currently operating at a loss and its income is not enough to meet liabilities such as the salaries of workers, fuel and maintenance costs. The service, which is expected to run throughout the day, night and weekends, currently operates only morning and evening sessions between Monday and Friday, with cabins mostly empty or half full. The low patronage has also been attributed to the direction of development of the city, which is heading inland as against the operations of the shuttle which are limited to the coast — from the Takoradi Harbour to Kojokrom, Sekondi. Wassa Akropong: Woman 27 years, peppered in the genitalia for shop lifting.

A  27 year old Janet Oteng, has been lynched  by some irate youths of Wassa Akropong of the Amenfi East District for stealing a blue jeans  trouser and pairs of G- String panties from a boutique. Janet Oteng was cought sneaking out of the shop with the panties in her under wear and the jeans trousers in a polythene bag. An eyewitness to the theft triggered an alert when she was pursued to explain how she got the said items from the shop.  She was however unable to provide proof of purchase, a situation which caused some neighbors and the shop operators to strip her cloths off and insert hot pepper, ginger and other hot local spices into her vagina and other parts of the her body. Jane as she’s affectionately called, “claimed to be a hair dresser in Kumasi and she travels to Wassa Akropong on market days to trade”, an eyewitness said. The police later intervened and the suspect was arrested. Investigations are currently underway.
