SHOCKING: I STUDIED COSMETIC SURGERY FOR TWO WEEKS- CEO OF OBENGFO HOSPITAL

The Director of the controversial   Obengfo Hospital, Dr Dominic Obeng-Andoh, has shockingly revealed that he spent only two weeks to train   has a cosmetic surgery at a health facility in the US.

According  to him, the two week hands on  master class in cosmetic surgery with a Florida based  university is enough to  equip  him with the requisite skill and confidence to conduct liposuction procedures

“I was trained at the School of Medical Sciences at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. I graduated in 1997. I had my house job training there and then at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. Then I worked as a Medical Officer at Korle Bu,” he revealed.

He further explained that ‘“I have been in private practice since 2000 but a few years back, I went to Florida to have this specialized training in liposuction. I did the basic, intermediary and the advanced training in liposuction. I got a specific training in high definition liposuction through the use of Vaser. I went to Florida to train lipos, at centre for health promotion, a health institution in the US for two weeks.”

Dr Dominic Obeng-Andoh made the revelation during an exclusive interview with the host Ekusi sen Philip Osei Bonsu on Asempa fm.

The host of the show visibility astonished by the revelation intelligently quizzes 

“Understudying an expert in cosmetic surgery for just two weeks will not be enough to equip you with skill set to conduct cosmetic surgery?”

“Elsewhere in  USA and Britain it takes over five years before one could be  certified has a  plastic surgeon which different from your case?” he quizzed

In his response, Dr Obeng-Andoh posited that as a certified medical doctor it was easy for    him to obtain the skills in liposuction procedures owing to the fact that he has been conducting series of surgeries before enrolling for the Florida training.

“ Fortunately or Unfortunately being  licensed medical doctor affords you the chance to enter into any field of medical practice with ease…and during my practice  has a medical doctor before going to Florida l have been con ducting series of surgeries on patient”   he said

“Studying liposuction procedures for two weeks should not be the problem because l  am able to meet the needs of my cliental…the most important thing is  l achieve results” he stressed.

BACKGROUND

The embattled medical doctor,  has became a subject of media bashing after a radio station in Accra reported that three persons with undisclosed identities, who went to the Obengfo Hospital for ‘liposuction’, had suffered life threatening complications.

The station reported further that another patient, who drove to the hospital healthy and strong, was later found dead in a pool of blood by his family, and they noticed he had ‘three openings’: two on the side of his body and another at the umbilical cord.

Latest on his series of allegations  include the sudden demise of  Stacy Offei Darko, Deputy CEO of National Entrepreneurship Innovative Plan (NEIP) in May this year and  he is has   been charged  with murder and currently standing trial before an Accra Magistrate Court.
