Six feared dead as ambulance crushes into tipper truck (PHOTOS)

At least six persons on board an ambulance truck are feared dead in a gory accident which occurred at Apowa –Beahu stretch of road in   Ahanta West district, western region. The gory accident which occurred just this afternoon has claimed the life of two nurses, a sick person, two relatives of the sick person and a co-driver of the ambulance. The accident occurred when the ambulance which was conveying a sick person from Axim to Effia Nkwanta Hospital, mysteriously lost it balance and collided with an articulated truck with the  registration number GT - 7348-15. The accident left, the ambulance with the registration number GV 1453 – 14 being  crushed and shredded into parts with sight of lifeless bodies. GWCL EMBARKS ON FOUR DAYS DESITING OF PRA RIVER

  For some time now the Sekondi Takoradi metropolis has been experiencing long spells of water shortage. Currently residents of Kojokrom and its environs have been without water for the past two days. Two of the treatments plants for the Ghana Water Company Limited have been producing below their operational capacity.This is because the River Pra is choked with silt which is affecting the treatment plants’ ability to draw raw water. Against this, the Ghana Water Company Limited is embarking on a four day desilting exercise of its intake points. Western Region Chief Manager of the Ghana Water Company Limited Ing Mark Teiko Codjoe, explained to Skyy news it has become necessary to embark on the exercise so as to improve on water supply to the metropolis. Railway Workers Union unhappy with takeover of its lands by private entities

The Ghana Railways Workers Union has observed with great concern the wanton sale and encroachment of railway lands by private companies and individuals. The union is worried should this trend continue government’s quest of revamping the rail sector will be disadvantaged. This was contained in a resolution the Ghana Railways Workers Union presented to the Ministry of Railways Development during the opening ceremony which was held in Takoradi.    Speaking to Skyy news on the sidelines of a regular National Executive Council meeting, General Secretary of the Union Godwin Ntaamah indicated among the resolution is “a call on government to ban on all form of lease of Rail ways land and also conduct a review on all lease of railway lands and offices already made in recent times”.
