SHAMA DISTRICT TO COMPLETE ABANDONED PROJECTS IN 2018
Authorities at the Shama District have vowed completing 70 percent of its abandoned projects in 2018.
Due to frequent change of political administration has resulted in the district been dotted with numerous government project which are left at various stages of completion.
The District has close to 20 abandoned projects yet to be completed,ranging from construction and reshaping of roads, construction of drains, construction of class room block, upgrading of the district growth center into poly clinic.
However, "greater number of these projects will be completed this year 2018" says Hon. Joseph Amoah, DCE for Shama District .
According to him, plans are far advanced to see the construction and completion of five road in the Shama District.
" All other things being equal this year will see the completion of reshaping of Shama junction -Shama road but we are planing on asphalting that road. The Aboase -Aboaze road will be completed this year....Already works are on going on the stretch of road linking Asemasa and Awona beach. We will see to it that it gets completed this year. The Yenikrom -Komfuaku road will also be completed. Also regrading works on the Yiabiew roads will be completed this year".
Mr Joseph Amoah is optimistic that, works on the embattled Shama polyclinic will be completed this year.
Upgrading works on the poly clinic in Shama has been abandoned for decades now with reasons attributed to lack of financial muscles to see the completion of the polyclinic.
"But the district have prioritize the completing the polyclinic so we have agreed injecting funds from one million per District facility which will come this year to complete the polyclinic"
Mr Amoah assured the district completing contraction of classroom blocks in Asemasa No.2 and Apimayiem.
" So the district is bent on completing most of its projects before 2018"
" And l believe when these projects are completed espercially the polyclinic and the road. We will better the life of the Shama people and Shama District will be a paragon District in Western region "
