STMA TO EMBARK ON MASSIVE DECONGESTION EXERCISE.


The Sekondi –Takoradi Metropolis has given traders selling  at  unauthorized spots within the metropolis up to Monday  January 15, 2018 to relocate or will be forcibly relocated.

Management of the Sekondi – Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly has resolved to undertake a “Never seen before” decongestion of the metropolis.

The assembly will be using 110 personnel including the military, police and guards from the assembly to superintend over the exercise.

Sekondi – Takoradi Mayor Anthony KK Sam addressing members of the Western Region members of the press corps indicated the exercise will see to the demolition of structures along principal streets in the metropolis.

He explains the second phase of the decongestion exercise will be done at all the four sub metros in the metropolis.

This will include Sekondi Sub metro, Essikadu Sub metro, Takradi Sub metro, and Kwesimintsim Sub Metro.

According to him the objective of the exercise is to get the metropolis off filth which has engulf the metropolis and to ease the traffic.

Mr K.K Sam therefore entreated traders undertaking trading activities at unauthorized spots to as a matter of urgency relocate to the Apremdo market to  avoid their properties been damaged when the decongestion exercise begins.
